Workshop 3: Animation

In this animation, i wanted to explore the relationship of the exterior and the interior of red centre, especially the exhibition space at the ground level. I find the large glass facade at the exhibition space interesting, as it acts as a medium in connecting and blurring this inside/outside relationship of the building.

Here are some of the key frames used in the animation:

Workshop 2: Material Modelling

Week 1
Model: Text and Form Entwined
Material: White cardboard

This model combines the idea of 'Ageis Hyposurface' by deCOI and 'Fold' by Gilles Delluze. small units of triangle are similar to Ageis Hyposurface, which form the whole folding and rising tower of the model.

Week 2
Poster: Curiousity
Material: Montage of Ink drawings and black pen drawings on A2

The drawings are from the St. Catherine Church near Moore Park. These two scenes both have a similar character of long, extending space. I did a montage of them upside down, giving a sense of space and curiousity that leads the eye towards the centre of the paper.

Model: Body, Space, City
Material: White cardboard with playdough

The Playdough is traced with texture of the wooden bridge in the poster. In the model, I am trying to explore the same long, mysterious spaces as in the poster.

Week 3

Poster: Dream
Material: Watercolour, Ink, montage with Balsa on A2

In this poster, I am going back to the idea of Fold from the first model (unfolding of the bubbles), combining with the second model's idea of mysterious, long space.

Model: 3D explosion
Material: Balsa Wood

Using balsa wood, the poster is "exploded" into 3d.
